More About Us

Hola! Welcome to our blog!

We are the Johnson's. Yep, that's right two Mexican's with the whitest last name! We were both adopted from the same orphanage in Mexico by families both from Utah that lived 20 minutes away from each other. We reconnected, fell in love and the rest they say is history…...
Haha ok, so that's not true. That's the story we tell people just to see the look on their face that's probably on yours right now! The truth is yes, we were both adopted from Mexico, but not from the same orphanages. Two different towns far away from each other. I was adopted when I was 8 days old and Julio was 13 years old. We met online. Never would have imagined I'd meet the love of my life on the internet, but I did and he stole my heart.
We were married June 7, 2014 and in August I was lying in the hospital about to go in for a third surgery for endometriosis when we received news that my pregnancy test had come back positive.
Six months later we would find ourselves in the same hospital in labor and delivery being told what no parent ever wants to hear. Our baby girl Eloise was gone.
It's been the most heart wrenching experience we've had to go through. It's just not the natural order of life to have to bury a child at any age.
The idea to start a blog came during the night. My brain just never seemed to turn off so I thought why not have a place to write my thoughts and feelings down. So here we are.
Learning how to pick up the pieces after such a loss has been difficult, but we know our sweet Eloise would want us to move on and be happy. Life is full of good things even though some times life deals us what feels like an unfair hand.
This blog is dedicated to Eloise. It is dedicated to all of the memories she would have made had she been able to stay with us. We now live to honor her and to remember the impact she had on us even though she was only here for a short time.
